Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing (Evolution in Remote Sensing) - whispers
whispers 2010: workshop hyperspectral, call for papers
Following its successful first edition in august 2009 in Grenoble, France, with 200 attendees from 30 different countries worldwide, the second editon of the Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing (Evolution in Remote Sensing) - whispers - will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland next june. It will be hosted by Prof. Jon Atli Benediktsson, General Chair.
The aim of this workshop is to gather the different communities dealing with hyperspectral data, from biomedical applications or microscopic spectroscopy, to airborne or satellite remote sensing, monitoring of the environment, defense related issues, planetary exploration and astrophysics. As a matter of fact, all these communities have to deal with similar issues: sensor design and calibration, dimension reduction, feature extraction, unmixing, anomaly detection, data analysis in very high dimensional spaces, data compression or visualization ... and a fruitful cross-fertilization is expected between the different communities, from the real-life applications to the most advanced theoretical issues.
The deadline for submission of the full 4-pages paper is in a month from now, on february 15th.
Please find more information about this event with the following link:
http://www.ieee-whispers.com
The submitted papers will be reviewed by 3 anonymous reviewers. The proceedings will be distributed during the conference and available online on IEEE Xplore one month after the conference.
If you are a company involved in the hyperspectral world, you might be interested in sponsoring the event, or even be an exhibitor. Please contact us for any additional information.
If you want to organize and chair a special session, please be in touch and follow the guidelines on the website (see "important dates").
