香港中文大学“卫星遥感地面接收站”(以下简称地面站)已于2006年1月1日正式运作。地面站可纪录及处理大量从卫星接收的遥感数据,为本港、华南及世界各国用户的政府与私人机构提供各项有用资料。本地面站能为常年多云多雨的香港、以至华南地区及周边国家与区域提供全天候的环境监测,如:山泥倾泻、地陷、地震、海啸、洪水及台风等天然灾害,减少人命和经济损失。香港中文大学于2000年获中国科学院国家遥感中心委任在香港成立科研基地,并选定于中大校园内兴建这对国家长远环境研究及监测极为重要的地面接收站。此项目不单肯定了香港中文大学在…

The Satellite Remote Sensing Ground Receiving Station has been commenced the full operation since 1^st January, 2006. With commencement of the Station, remote sensing data are received and processed which can provide useful information to governments and private corporations and other users in Hong Kong, China and in the world.
